Each package includes the following:

- Fresh fruits
- Fresh vegetables

- Toiletries (feminine hygiene products, diapers, toilet paper)
The coronavirus pandemic has brought NYC to a grinding halt. Restaurants and other businesses are closed, resulting in thousands of workers being left jobless.
A large majority of workers in these circumstances live paycheck to paycheck and for a number of reasons, do not qualify for unemployment benefits or government aid. They are currently left stranded.
These families are in need of help now!
Who will qualify for support?
This program will prioritize families living in Western Queens who do not qualify for government assistance and unemployment and who have been put out of work due to the economic affects of COVID-19.
We know all too well, that often government assistance is only provided to families who fall within certain parameters and that many families without access to government aid struggle with little to no support.
We promise to fight for our neighbors in Western Queens and to bring healthy, fresh foods to families who are being ignored and left in the shadows.
If you or someone you know needs assistance, please complete this form to apply for weekly food delivery.
Donations of all sizes, big and small, are helpful.
The cost of 1 grocery box is $40. This will ensure a family of 4 is food secure for a week.
Each grocery box delivered will include staple items that will help sustain a family for the week. These items will also be sourced from local farms to help maintain our local food economy.
Items in each bag will include the following:
2-3 pounds of grains
Eggs & Milk (nut or cow)
Tortillas & bread
We have multiple ways you can contribute as a volunteer. This wouldn't be possible without feet on the group, and compassionate people working together as a team.

How do we do it?
The Connected Chef has always aimed to utilize food as a way to support and connect our community. As restaurant chefs, we have had the unique training in creating effective systems for feeding large numbers of people.
This training, paired with our passion for community connection and support, allows us to respond to the COVID19 crisis in a swift and impactful way.
By partnering with local farms and food distributors, we are able to buy high quality, bulk ingredients. These ingredients are then repackaged into individual boxes and delivered to families each week.
With the help of over 90 community volunteers, we are then able to delivery these lifeline groceries directly to families in need through a CONTACTLESS delivery method.
